Join us at high noon on Saturday, June 22 celebrate the Summer Solstice. Kate and Layla will guide us through the 108 Sun Salutations, traditionally practiced around the equinox and solstice times to honor the change in seasons and clear out old energy making space for the new.
108 is a sacred number in Hindu, Buddhist and Yogic traditions representing cosmic energy and divine connection. As practitioners might repeat a mantra 108 times over 108 mala beads, sun salutations can be taken 108 times.
This class will begin with a warm up and offered variations before embarking on 6 sets of 18 'Sun Salutations A' with a short break in between each set. Refreshments will be available throughout.
All are welcome. This is an advanced offering but modifications are encouraged to achieve your best practice.
